Experimental Surgery and Animal (ESAL) Laboratory

The Experimental Surgery and Animal (ESAL) Laboratory was established in 1987 at the College of Medicine, King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to provide experimental animals and logistics support for the researchers of the institution.
In 2015, a collaborative initiative was launched with the Prince Naif bin AbdulAziz Health Research Center for the laboratory to be one of the core research facilities dedicated to surgical training & animal experimental research, laboratory animal care and housing, veterinary support and research personnel training for the King Saud University Medical City. Through this initiative the Center has achieved significant level of development and improvement.

Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) Laboratory

The Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory (MCB) is a joint collaborative initiative of the King Saud University College of Dentistry and the Prince Naif bin AbdulAziz Health Research Center. The laboratory functions as a multi-user research facility dedicated to support multi-disciplinary research work involving molecular and cell biology processes and their links to dental, biomedical and healthcare applications.

Stem Cell Unit
Anatomy Department, College of Medicine, King Saud University
The unit's basis lies in the College of Medicine, Anatomy Department wherein special laboratories have been established for stem cell research supported by academic staff that are specialized in this field.
This work has taken years of preparation but the actual beginning was on 1427H (2006G).
The unit is distinguished for its local relationships with King AbdulAziz City for Science and Technology, King Fahd Medical City and international relationships with universities and prestigious international centers specialized in this field such as Sheffield University in United Kingdom, Monash University in Australia and University of Southern Denmark in Denmark.
The stem cell unit is growing rapidly and attracting a lot of scientific expertise and its being equipped with the latest improvements to facilitate its development in modern stem cell research.
